A Peferct Ending…
Dec 28th
The basketball season finally finished. You could probably tell from my previous blog, coaching 9 years was challenging with many ups and downs. I ended up having a lot of fun and learned a lot about myself and coaching. How tough can coaching 9 year olds be? I manage a team of 10 at the office every day. Teaching the kids proper rebounding, passing, dribbling, defense, and screening, has to be easier than managing different departments with different goals.
The kids finally came together the last game. They stopped worrying about who is passing the ball to them or who is shooting. The kids dlearned they must play defense too, if they are going to win. In the end, we went 1 and 9, winning our last game. A smile was on everyone’s face, inlcuding mine. What a relief!!! It made for a fun end of the season party and I am arelady looking forward to doing it again in 2010.

Taxes, Taxes and MORE Taxes
Dec 9th
You are probably wondering what are all the taxes doing on my telecom bills. Property taxes, 911 Taxes, Federal Excise Taxes, Carrier Access Recovery Fees, are just some of the charges which show up every month and it seems a new one is popping up every quarter. I cannot keep up anymore… Telcom taxes are still a gray area and neither a Carrier or the Government has been able to explain it to me. Why should I pay property taxes on a data line? I do not own the line, I am leasing it. It is not my fault, nor should I be penalized, when the Carrier does not run their business properly and over borrow on projects.
